The Rabbit

A little toy rabbit,

with fluffy white ears,

and a round curly tail.

Loved for bedtime,

and great for playtime.

A comfort for all the year.

But one thing you don't know,

is when it's alone,

The rabbit, it moves, it starts to go!

It hops around the room awhile,

waiting until it can see your smile.

But when you return,

you won't see a thing.

For it will remain as it had seemed.

for imagination is a special part,

on the inside of every child's heart.

My brain,

A never ending thought.

Like it’s going insane.

Around again it goes,

A secret,

No one knows.

A feeling.

What is it really?

My head,

A fuzzy thing.

I need to go to bed.

The wheels are turning.

Slowly but surely.

But my curiosity’s burning.

A yearning.

Is this it?

My being,

Wanting more,

Searching but not seeing.

A piece missing,

But finally found.

Making it all the more fulfilling.

Silent

I’m so tired,

Playing along.

I have tried,

For far too long.

Spending time as a family,

It’s always happy and great!

Till I open my mouth,

And their eyes fill with hate.

The insults come,

And I can’t fight back.

The regret will arrive,

Just like a slap.

It’s a daily battle,

To stay compliant.

So I made the decision,

To stay silent.

Your smile,

It brightens up the room.

Your eyes,

They draw me in close.

Your kiss,

Makes my feelings bloom.

Your love,
